To Kill a Mockingbird Portfolio Guidelines
Welcome!
This is the To Kill A Mockingbird portfolio for unit 4: My Legacy. This portfolio project will support, challenge, and expand the thoughts and ideas that you gain while reading Harper Lee's novel To Kill A Mockingbird.
As you look around the site you will see that many different themes of the book are addressed. I have tried to touch on the topics that I feel will prompt creative writing and critical thought. Our focus is how the story affects our understanding of the past and how that understanding enlightens the way we view current and future events.
This portfolio includes the following components:
* Short written assignments
* One art assignment
* One self-assessment of your overall effort
At the end of the unit all of your completed writing assignments, art work, and self-evaluation will be bound and turned in as one portfolio including a cover and table of contents.
Assignments
The assignment for each page is bolded so that it can be easily found. Assignments need to be type written and double spaced or very neatly written by hand.
If you choose to complete an artwork assignment you should bring it to class to present with your book. You should include a brief write-up that explains how your art piece connects with the story. If possible, include a photo of your artwork with your write-up entry in your book.
Assessment
Each assignment in your portfolio will be evaluated for neatness and level of thinking demonstrated. Overall neatness of your portfolio will also be considered.
